LITERACY REMEDIAL
Phenduka “gets through” to children who’ve been left behind because we use a new multi-modal approach that caters for different learning styles.
THE KINETIC APPROACH
Children use their bodies actively to assist learning, e.g. with movements, gestures, acting etc.
THE VISUAL APPROACH
We use pictures to develop vocabulary and also get learners to draw so they understand and retain new words
THE TACTILE APPROACH
Children make words with playdough, paying attention to the shapes of letters and incorporate the meaning of a word through creative additions
THE GESTURAL APPROACH
Children learn to tell stories with gestures. This improves their English and is a memory aid to telling the story. The activity then flows naturally into reading the story.
